A terrible fucking sickness this is. Full of piss piss piss piss piss and vigour. Wound up youth putting fingers to trigger. The pupils grow black and the head it gets bigger. You get over it. You get over it. You get over it. You get over it. You get over it. You get over it. You get over it. You get over it. You and all your friends, until the very end, are so imaginative and sharp. Too cool to stop. Too hip to start. You get over it. You get over it. You get over it. You get over it. You get over it. You get over it. You get over it. You get over it. I have seen the smile pulled across your face. Sowing seeds in the holes in my teeth until I found myself replaced. You get over it. You get over it. You get over it. You get over it. You get over it. You get over it. You get over it. You get over it.

Diana Moon 02:01
Hey! Hey! Diana Moon is Handicapper General, is Mother Superior is car crashes in my ear. No chimes. No chimes. No chimes. No chimes. Saying, "I don't know why and I don't know why." Saying, "I don't know why and I don't know why." All the girls, they look so average in their masks. Now don't go thinking things you can't take back. What you need is a strong, strong man. A new emperor to shed his lodestones and get light as air. What you need is a strong, strong man. What you need is a strong, strong man. What you need is a strong, strong man. What you need is a strong, strong man. What you need is a strong, strong man. What you need is a strong, strong man. What you need is a strong, strong man. What you need is a strong, strong man. Hey! Hey! Diana Moon is Handicapper General, is Mother Superior is car crashes in my ear. No chimes. No chimes. No chimes. No chimes. Saying, "I don't know why and I don't know why." Saying, "I don't know why and I don't know why."

Block out the sun and pull the stars from the sky. They're just some distractions for this hazy mind. High as a kite and from the look on my face you can tell I'm in a permanent state of grace. You know it's not hard. No, it's not hard. It's not hard just to please me. It's incredibly easy. Whether shaking the maker or walking the dog, there's only one thing that I'm thinking of. A gift that I place upon my own tongue while skipping stones and scribbling psalms. You know it's not hard. No, it's not hard to regulate pleasure and still keep it together. When you're not chasing heaven or ecstatic ascension. You're just relieving tension and related penchants.

Fucked Witch 07:01
You say you were up on the mountain when the clouds, they split you open. Then they filled you with a feeling of lust from some far-fetched origin. Yeah, you're dad was an eastern sailor whose dark skin informed your pallour. I've seen the west tides rise through glazed and hazy yes. You're a fucked witch. You're a fucked witch. You're a fucked witch. You're a fucked witch. You put flowers in your hair because your little boss, she wants them there. She said, "You lack confidence in the throat. I'm there so we won't choke.". If there ever was a faerie youth, oh Jezabelle, it was you. You serve the white lion mother. You mind the pride's sons and daughters. You're a fucked witch. You're a fucked witch. You're a fucked witch. You're a fucked witch.

NOTES
This was a split cassette with Lantern from Philadelphia, PA. Our tracks were cut with Christian Simmons at The Silver Door in Montreal, QC. This was released as a limited run cassette on Electric Voice Records.

Thanks to Matthew Samways for allowing us to offer our portion of this release for free download. We highly encourage you to support Electric Voice at the link below.

EXTRAS
We initially recorded 4-track version of the songs, with the exception of I Have Seen the Smile, in the style of the earlier releases. After mixing we weren't fully satisfied with the results.

Around this time we played a show with Crosss. Christian, their drummer at that time, generously offered to record us at The Silver Door to see if we could get better results. The original demos have been included in this online version of the release.

The multi-talented Jacqueline Lachance was also kind enough to create a fantastic video for I Have Seen The Smile. There is an accompanying review below.

REVIEWS
"Lantern’s burning proto-punk and wah-wah workouts provide a much needed headbang session to strengthen those aging neck tendons. Their cover of this trashcan anthem further proves the cutting-edge theory that silverface fuzz blows away synth-banjo, any day. Meanwhile, The Ether’s destructo-wave ripples into black holes, a dense mass constantly on the verge of implosion. Here and there, a sparse guitar lead escapes the confines, a split-second before the void pulls you back head first into its crushing fury. Must grip!"
- Gabriel Jasmin, Weird Canada

"An audacious chronicle of the family Solanaceae. Jacqueline Lachance takes The Ether’s infinite disharmony into ridiculous arrays of VHS mashery, forcing the stop-motion absurdity through burnt colour palettes and neck-churning cut-ups. Wither beside the translucent Tomato-narrative and abandon all attempts to capture the disparate fiction. Shred."
- Aaron Levin, Weird Canada
